CinemaxNext1985

Nicknames: "Cheesy Square Cinemax", "The Squares", "Cheesy Cursive Writer"

ID: We see some shapes in the background while the old Cinemax logo fades in with letter by letter of forming the words "Cinemax", and a cheesy cursive writer says "Next on", making "Next on Cinemax". A movie/show/session name fades in at the bottom. After the announcer is finished, the Cinemax logo comes out and zooms in until it's uncomfortably very close to the screen (kind of like in-your-face animation).

Variants: TBA

FX/SFX: The squares moving.

Music/Sounds/Voiceover: A 80s rock tune, a writing sound, a jazz sounder and then another 80s rock tune when the Cinemax logo zooms in. And whoever is the announcer is announcing the movie's name, plot, and starring cast.

Then, "Next on" and the Cinemax logo fly over onto the center, and then the "Next on" words vanish. Whatever movie or show they are showing fades in at the bottom. CinemaxNext2003

Nickname: "Dark Cinemax"

ID: We see a dark black background, with an unknown floor (which looks like liquid floor), and the then-current Cinemax logo with "max" replaced by "next". The name of the next feature appears, with its release year, genre, and runtime below that. Shown below that is three of the actors. The same Cinemax logo reappears, making a white flash that changes the word "next" to "max".

FX/SFX: TBA

Music/Sounds: Same as before.

Availability: Same as the previous bumpers.

Editor's Note: The "waaaa-waaaaa"s in the music and the dark atmosphere could get to some, but overall it's a great logo with nice animation and good music.

2008-2011[]

Nickname: "Boring Cinemax"

ID: On a pale blue background, the name of the next feature in white is shown, with three of the actors in black underneath. After a while, "next" and the MaxHD logo cut in.

Variant: Before showings of some more recent movies, a special variant was used, which shows a scene from the movie in place of the usual background and the actor names in white.

  • A sub-variant was used promoting Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, where there are no actor names and "NEXT" (now in all-caps) and the MaxHD logo cut in at the same time.

FX/SFX: Simple animation. The movie footage on the variants.

Music/Sounds: An acoustic guitar tune.
